Virginia529 is governed by an 11-member board, consisting of experts in finance, investment management and higher education. Four members serve automatically through their positions as state officials. Seven non-legislative citizen members are appointed by the Governor or General Assembly. Virginia529’s chief executive officer manages the plan’s daily operations and reports to the board.
