Christine Banjo
During middle and high school, Richmond’s Christine Banjo experienced periods of homelessness. Her struggles caused her to believe that college would be impossible. Those feelings changed when she joined SOAR Virginia at George Wythe High School. Working with her SOAR Virginia advisor helped her understand what college was like and to understand financial responsibility. Now a student at Norfolk State University, Christine is pursuing a degree in social work to help others overcome challenges similar to the ones she faced.
